SAIT leverages Sony's 50 years experience in recording technologies, including R&D investments in the field-proven AIT format. Sony achieved the high capacity by utilizing high density technologies, including helical-scan recording and AME media, scaled into a half-inch cartridge and full-height 5.25-inch drive. SAIT also offers Write-Once, Read-Many (WORM) functionality, providing enhanced, cost-effective data security for mission-critical archival applications.
