The FW40D Network Card provides a flexible and affordable method for providing control and content for Sony displays over an IP network or throught the internal 60GB hard drive.
The card supports real-time streaming from a centralized of High Definition MPEG4/2, H.264, and WM9. Streaming data may be either UDP or UDP multicast to reduce overall network requirements. The card also enables IP control of Sony displays via RS232 protocol clients. A complete Windows based API is available allowing software developers to create custom control applications or integrate to existing ones. One application of this API is the FW40D Commander application, which comes included with the HD Network Card. FW40D Commander provides a convenient way to manage 1000s of displays across a network. FW40D Commander provides advanced configuration, scheduling, grouping, playlist creation, and content management.
